Virgil tonight at the Spud...

Steve and I are going to the Spud (the Baked Potato) tonight to see Virg. Pocketplayer is going, and hopefully a bunch of other people from this forum will also show up. It'll be drum-nerd heaven!!

Be warned: the Spud's answering machine has LAST week's line-up listed. Don't be discouraged, Virgil is playing this Tuesday, the 11th. I'll be in line early ready to trade some CD's and get killer seats. Still looking for that Mini-Disc recorder??? Man I want to record this gig. Last time in line, hearing the warm-up w/Virg, Bunny, Patrice, and Tony was worth the admission fee! Please stop raining by 6:30PM tomorrow.

just looked at the baked potato's website just out of curiosity. u guys are sooo lucky being able to go to that place on a regular basis. over here in england we only get the main bands.....weckl, smith etc and we have to wait yearly. the gig with virgil includes steve weingart....awesome! some of the band combinations are crazy.....

enjoy the virgil gig and it would be great if someone could write a review....

Hey guys
Im a newbie to this site but from what I see so far I love it. You guys really have good communication going on here. Anyways
I saw Virgil when he did a Clinic at the Hardrock.
What else can be said of him besides he has killer feet and he is just an amazing musician.
I was lucky enough to be standing back stage when he came off and he just gave me his sticks. Man you should have seen guys looking at me like they wanted to rip them out of my hands lol.
Later on I got a autographed photo as well and we spoke briefly. Virgil is just a super nice guy.
I know you guys will love the show.

Fun it twas! I met Steve & T-Bo tonight. Very cool gents I must say. Thanks T-Bo for the CD's- color covers...class act!

Virgil was great as usual. I felt the set started a little sloppy. Steve Weingart seemed to be working his way through a few OTV tunes. As time grew, so did this foursome. The second set was insane. Virgil's solo was ridiculous. His energy level is off the charts. I saw him play solid jazz tonight and he ripped it up. As Steve said, his flams were in high form!

The set list was as follows;
1. The User (New tune) 2. Proto Cosmos 3. Pyramids on Mars 4. Actual Proof 5. As Few (Steve W. tune) 6. Humptey Dumptey 7. What You Do For Me 8. Five G

2nd Set;
9. Fred 10. Alien Hip Hop 11. Mind Over 12. Nothing Personal 13. Stratus

Tunes 11-13 were insane. They were so locked in and tight. Amazing!!!
